These enemies are stronger than normal monsters and have some exclusive attacks and spells which makes them even more challenging. Naturally, monsters are a threat based on their level, and there's special monsters called overed monsters. If both arms are destroyed or if your entire mech is destroyed, then you'll be forced to eject from your mech and fight on on foot instead, so you'll have to change your battle strategy in those situations. If Xenoblade X has things like spike damage effects and armor & weapon equipment gem slots, then perhaps some enemies in Xenoblade will be immune to some of your attacks, or will automatically counter some of your attacks with status alignments, so if you don't have the right gems to be immune or are partially resistant to some of these enemy attacks, then you'll have a much harder time trying to keep your party alive.Įnemies are also able to destroy your giant mech's limbs if each arm takes enough damage, preventing you from using any weapon that mech has in its hands. Enemies stand there and are programmed to attack every once in a while, inflicting physical or magical attacks, lowering your defense, and possibly inflicting other status effects that require you to change how you'll fight during battle. The monsters, for the most part, pretty much attack in the same ways they did in the original Xenoblade, so it doesn't exactly make for the most entertaining battles to simply just watch. The explanation starts at 18:09 and ends at 19:28. This makes it balanced, so players have the option to fight the way they want. If up to 3 characters are fighting inside a mech and one character is on foot, then the character on foot gets a defensive boost nearly as high as a mech's own defensive power. this defensive boost will increase even further based on how many other party members are fighting inside their mechs. When a character is fighting on foot while other party members fight inside their mechs, that character on foot gets a boost in defensive power. The only problem is that if you get out of your mech to fight on foot, then you'r human doll armor set will be fairly weak because its not really meant to be used in combat on foot,so it doesn't provide yo with ideal protection.
These suits boost a mech's performance which I assume means they have improved stats. According to the unofficially translated version of the last video, you can choose to mix and match your party members to fight in or outside of their mechs. The characters that you want to fight in mechs can take advantage of being equipped with special armor called Doll suits that you can buy for them.
